Cloud Camp follow-up

Mark & Laurie came back from Cloud Camp smiling–and shared their insights about the creative “unconference” format. Cloud Camp Atlanta tries to break out of the traditional conference mould by offering anyone the chance to conduct an impromptu panel or lead a discussion not on the docket. Mark’s scheduled discussion on picking the right cloud vendor may have lacked a gargantuan audience, but it embodied the spirit of the unconference by presenting something impartially. One of the drawbacks to this (and many traditionally-styled conferences) was the abundance of participants with an axe to grind. Does anyone have ideas or strategies for getting around those sorts of participants at a conference and getting the most out of your attendance? A clever algorithm for maximizing the effectiveness of a conference would be more valuable than a golden egg!
